The Dungeness River System : The Dungeness River, one of the steepest rivers in the United States, cascades over 7,800 feet in only 35 miles, providing essential water, riparian habitat and beautiful scenery for the Sequim-Dungeness Valley.

Geology of the North Olympic Peninsula

Geology of the north Olympic Peninsula : This is interesting and unusual territory, only beginning to be understood in the light of the plate tectonics research of the last half of the 1900s.  The Olympic Peninsula is a ‘young’ addition to the west coast of North America, with oldest rocks dating back only about 50 million years.
